I came across a cool format called cinemagraphs that essentially take a small movie clip and freezes most of the motion except for a small section. Here’s a really quick and dirty example I made to test the concept and with any luck I can play with and refine this technique to create some cool stuff. Some exceptional options can be found at cinemagraphs.com.

New Website, New Photos
Hey all. I woke up one morning recently and looked at my site and said…eh, I could have better. So, I redid it. And now, I think you would agree, it looks much much better.
And business is good. My work is expanding more into the glamour/fashion world and I actually have a few new photos up from a shoot last week. Check out my glamour port here.
Holler if you have any projects! I’m always looking to stay busy.
New Portfolio Page – Music
[singlepic id=151 w=320 h=240 float=]
I’ve just uploaded a new portfolio page for music and concert photos. These photos were from a Funkiphino concert I shot a few months back. I’ve not done a lot of concert shooting, but it’s an area I’m definitely interested in. If your group needs photos, let me know, and I can probably make you a really good deal!
Photos from Chatfield
I had a chance to go back to Chatfield Botanic Gardens in Littleton today to scope out the ground for an upcoming wedding shoot. I brought my camera this time. Thought I’d share some of the cool stuff I saw. Enjoy!

Maternity Shoot
[singlepic id=106 w=320 h=240 float=]
I had the opportunity to do a maternity shoot the other day. This is one of the good shots that came out of it. I’ll post some more soon.
Shooting Yesterday
[singlepic id=105 w=320 h=240 float=]
I was out driving yesterday, and despite the lousy weather and snow on the ground everywhere I really wanted to shoot, I was able to come away with one nice shot. I wish I had had tripod, etc, along with me, as well as a better vantage point. This spot on the road was simply breathtaking.
New Engagement Photos
Finally got around to uploading some new engagement shots I took a few weeks ago. This is Donna and her fiance and they were great to shoot with! We had tons of fun and got some really good exploring and shooting done.

Tilting the Shift
I wanted to play around with the whole tilt-shift in Photoshop technique that people have been having a lot of fun with. By adjusting the focus areas in Photoshop, you can make a photo look like a toy model set. It’s kind of a neat effect.

Shoot Locations – Part 5
[singlepic id=90 w=320 h=240 float=]
Another one of my favorite locations around here is Bald Mountain. If you head west up one of the canyon roads from Boulder, it’s about 3 or so miles in. The hike to the top is a cinch (maybe 10 minutes) and the views from up there are stunning. Plus, there’s a nice little park bench at the top under a couple of trees. Really nice. If you’re looking for a good vantage point photography location in the Denver area, I’d highly recommend this one.
Shoot Locations – Part 4
[singlepic id=89 w=320 h=240 float=]
So, this one’s cheating a bit as it relies of a very specific timeframe. But, in the middle of August, or thereabouts, the sunflowers in this field off of Mineral Rd between I-25 and north Boulder simply explode. It’s an amazing sight, and an even more amazing site – shooting site that is. If it’s the middle of August and you’re looking for an incredible photo backdrop, may I suggest Mineral Rd?
Shoot Locations – Part 3

Another one of my favorite places to photograph in Colorado is a bit of a no-brainer and could hardly be considered a secret – Rocky Mountain National Park. Nonetheless, there are tons of great places to setup camera and have fun. And what’s great about it is the variety you get when you go through the park. You can get shots with a nice wooded background all the way up to glorious landscapes with the mountains as backdrop. It is most certainly well worth the entry fee.
Keep checking back if you’re looking for fun shoot locations in and around Denver.
Shoot Locations – Part 2

Next in my list of great shooting locations in Colorado is Rabbit Mountain. Located just north of Boulder, there’s tons of open space and great views on this hike. And tons of great places to setup shop and grab a few shots. One should beware of snakes, but I think the same goes for most of this state, actually.
Shoot Locations – Part 1

I’ve decided to be crazy and actually share some of my favorite little hidden spots with you. There are so many beautiful places here in Colorado, that I could suggest 100 and I’d be missing 1,000s of great shooting locations. But, I thought it might be fun to at least share a few of my favorite spots with you.
The above picture was taken along Lookout Road between Niwot and I-25. There are a lot of great fields out there with wonderful geometry. I haven’t done a full shoot out there yet, but it’s one of the places on my list to hit up soon.
Keep checking back. I’ll post more of these location ideas from time to time.
Looking For Good Denver Wedding Websites
What are your favorite wedding websites in Denver? I’ve found a few (mydenverwedding.com, denverweddingcenter.com, etc.), but I’m not sure if these are folks’ favs. Drop me a note in comments if there’s one you especially dig.
Subtle Changes
Up and Running
Yay. I’ve finally got this site going. I’m really excited to connect with everyone out there interested in my style of photography. It’s been a lot of fun putting this site together, and I have to give a huge shoutout to WordPress and the coder/designer Jide (I would haven’t been able to pull this off without his amazing PHP and css).
Have yourself a look see around and let me know if anything seems amiss. Or just drop me a line / e-mail / tweet.
